<p>KIRBY KRACKLE is a nerd rock duo comprised of two life-long pop-culture junkies, Jim Demonakos and Kyle Stevens, who create songs dedicated to the nerdiest aspects that self-same culture. They have performed their unique style of pop rock from New York to San Diego, Toronto to Seattle and numerous places in between. The band has released two albums, their self-titled debut in 2009 and their sophomore album E FOR EVERYONE in 2010. You can check out the band at <a href="http://www.kirbykracklemusic.com/">www.kirbykracklemusic.com.</a></p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">5. Up, Up, Down, Down</h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="640" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Xg2kDtJZos8?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Xg2kDtJZos8?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>A tale of trying to get the girl that any geek can relate to with plenty of video game references sprinkled in plus an special twist ending at the end that makes the love story a bit more&#8230;interesting.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">4. On and On</h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="640" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lqtjJOsLGYs?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lqtjJOsLGYs?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>It was a close race between Up, Up, Down, Down and On and On for #4 but the cool music video and great chorus makes up for the less than stellar parts of this ode to Wolverine. You got to admit the Ninja scene was pretty cool.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span id="more-2156"></span></p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">3. Great Lakes Avengers</h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="640" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MwSpEQ1p-WI?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MwSpEQ1p-WI?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>The Great Lakes Avengers sucks so much no official team even wants to be associated with them but if you can&#8217;t join the best, might as well enjoy being the worst.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">2. Take It From Me</h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="640" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FdYBOm6NPhs?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FdYBOm6NPhs?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>The story of Megaman has never sounded quite this awesome. Take It From Me features a shout out to Megaman&#8217;s rouges gallery of enemies and will be loved by anyone who loves Megaman and awesomeness.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">1. Vault 101</h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="640" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4OdxcfinFQs?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4OdxcfinFQs?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>Want to relive your Fallout 3 days through song? Kirble Krackle has got you covered with this ode to Hero of Vault 101.  The song rocks so much they even put it on <a href="http://kotaku.com/5721219/fallout-3-tribute-available-on-rock-band-store">Rock Band.</a></p>

<p>Issue #1 of Uncanny X-Force hit shelves in October and has became my new favorite title.  The team consisting of Wolverine, Archangel, Fantomex, Deadpool, and Psylocke is tight where every member is diverse and fills specific niche.  In the last X-Force, the team would be unwieldy and members sometimes included the winy mutant teenagers, which didn&#8217;t have the &#8220;don&#8217;t give a fuck&#8221; attitude that is necessary for the X-Force.</p>
<p><a href="http://lastgeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/UncannyXForcePage1.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-1597" title="UncannyXForcePage1" src="http://lastgeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/UncannyXForcePage1.jpg" alt="" width="361" height="550" /></a>Deadpool overexposure has lead to his jokes being immature and stale. Uncanny&#8217;s Deadpool is subtle in his brilliance.  Deadpool&#8217;s jokes are simple and tie into the events as they happen.  His opening line could be found in a dime store joke book, but the punch line truly delivers as we see Deadpool&#8217;s dive, miming the joke itself.</p>
<p>The team seems to work together in an clockwork fashion.  They team is almost mechanical in their job.  They are the special ops.  There isn&#8217;t teenage romance or jokes told as they fight off the supervillians.  There is no question that the team is serious.  The humor in Uncanny X-Force is intelligent and story driven, which makes it all the better (not that Deadpool won&#8217;t spout nonsense once and awhile).</p>
<p>With Uncanny X-Force #1, we start to see what kind of issues the team will face.  Archangel has to balance what he is and what Apocalypse made him (especially since he will be seeing his former master once again), Archangel needs Psylocke but his reliance on her might ruin their relationship, and noone is quite sure if they can trust each other when they chips are down. That will be a lot to handle when they come to kill the young boy who will grow up to be Apocalypse.</p>
<p>This is first comic recommendation we&#8217;ve ever done on Last Geek and it&#8217;s not because I&#8217;ve just started reading comics.  Uncanny X-force is such an amazing title that I couldn&#8217;t help but encourage others to check out.  If your local comic shop still has one, pick it up or else you can find a copy online from my favorite comic distributor <a href="http://heavyink.com/title/6647-Uncanny-X-Force">Heavy Ink</a>. Leave a comment and tell me what you think.</p>
