You may have seen the new Star Trek movie which hoped to recon Captain Kirk’s entire life to make a decent movie. They actually managed to pull it off, but the ending felt a little off though. If Kirk flew into the blackhole, it would have saved us from a bizarre discussion between the two Spocks and set up an sequel where Kirk fights the Borg, and you know you would all be there to see that. Once you are throwing out the old Star Trek history, you might as well make the new one as awesome as possible.
