Isn’t it stupid that no matter how old you get, there will always be people who look down on geeky people, and act like they are a sub species that should be observed from behind glass? I mean if anything it’s geeky people that rule the world. They’re not that ridiculous stereotype of the boy with glasses, a head brace and no social skills.
Some geeks are actually very charming, and geek chic is cool. Do you know what’s really tragic? An adult who’s head is so far in the past (and by that I mean high school), that they can’t seem to get past the whole “if you’re a geek you’re uncool” thing. That’s subject to opinion methinks. It’s like because we love superhero movies, comic books and will play at www.partycasino.com or Halo or whatever, we’re somehow weird.
Honestly it’s one of the most annoying things. You see someone who you never got along with in high school, but well, you’re adults now so you can make idle chit chat and pretend you care how they are. You forget their existence again, and then find out that that they were invited to your friend’s party, but they wouldn’t come because “that guy you hang out with is such a geek.” STILL!
It’s like they haven’t got the memo that geeky people are a) pretty cool actually, once you get to know them, and b) it was geeky people who made all the cool things you love; gadgets and the like. And they actually know how to use it. So who’s the uncool person? The one who doesn’t need to ask how to turn their smartphone on, or the person who could probably hack your phone in an instant?
Oh yes, geeks win.
